About An Eye for Style Fashion Tour:
The tour kicked off in Oakland, CA and Alumni of An Eye for Style Youth Fashion Academy showcased their designs. The second stop was in Los Angeles, CA where Alumni along with local, up & coming designers showcased their designs on up & coming local models. Dallas, TX is the third stop on the tour.
It is the heart desire of founder, Josette Gollatt, to have a group of underprivileged youth on her An Eye for Style VIP list at each tour destination. Treasure Island Job Corps students not only were the special guest at the kickoff in Oakland, but also opened up the show modeling Alumni, Rebecca Hall’s designs. The VIP guest for the Los Angeles fashion show were youth from The Dream Teen Center. Josette will do the same in Dallas, TX. The purpose of this tour is to give exposure to young, up & coming designers, models and artists in "A Great Light" while fulfilling the mission of An Eye for Style Fashion Academy.
About Josette Golatt: Josette Golatt is an Oakland Bay Area based designer originally from Daly, CA. At a young age she discovered her calling. Josette states that receiving her first sewing machine from her father at the age of nine “stirred up my gift”. She realized that her purpose was to make creations that would lift up the spirits of any who wear her designs. Golatt is now reaching out to inspire youth to become entrepreneurs in the area of fashion design as well as other facets of design. She is the founder of An Eye for Style Youth Fashion Academy. Her goal is to have An Eye for Style Youth Fashion Academy in cities across the U.S and world-wide. Josette’s passion comes from the belief that we were all created in the image of God who is the Original Designer and it is for us to celebrate and appreciate the gifts and talents that are inside.
About An Eye for Style Fashion Academy: An Eye for Style Fashion Academy is a nonprofit entrepreneurial program for youth ages 12-17. Its mission is to position youth in the fashion and design industry with the necessary entrepreneurial skills by tapping into and cultivating the natural gifts within them. Oakland, CA is the birthplace of the academy which started in 2003. It started as a weekend program, first of its kind, beginning with pilot classes in the inner city of West Oakland, CA. On January 2007, a new location opened in Frisco, TX. The whole purpose of this program is to inspire our young people to dream, and be all they can be, whether a business owner, or fashion industry professional. We want our young people to be educated, inspired, challenged, and supported by our fashion program.
